Note: "Palast mit dem Kg. V. Bali. Der Palast des Balikönigs ist ein Prachtstück alter Kunst. Die Wände hinter den geschnitzten Säulen sind mit Stoff überspannt und mit hellfarbigen Glasperlen kunstvoll bestickt. Um zu beweisen, was für ein guter deutscher Untertan er sei, hat der Häuptling die Figuren seiner Säulenhalle mit den deutschen Farben bemalen lassen. Links neben der breiten Eingangstür steht der Tronsessel des Königs. Es ist dies ein ganz gewöhnlicher europäischer Stuhl, der mit Glasperlen überzogen ist. Dieser Tron steht auf einer kleinen, künstlichen Bodenerhöhung, und der kleine Hügel ist ganz gepflastert mit grössern und kleinern Elephantenzähnen." (Wuhrmann, A., 1917. The walls behind the carved pillars are covered with cloth beautifully embroidered with light-coloured glass beads. In order to show what a good subject he is of the Kaiser the King has had the figures in his hall with pillars painted in the German colours. Left of the broad entrance stands the King's throne - a quite ordinary European chair covered with glass beads. This throne is standing on a low elevation and this whole small 'hillock' is covered with large and small elephant tusks." (A.
