Plastic waste exports from the European Union 2005-2023

The European Union (EU-27) exported 1.33 million metric tons of plastic waste to non-EU countries in 2023, up from 1.12 million tons a year earlier. Plastic waste exports from the EU peaked in 2014, at 2.73 million metric tons. China was once the largest market for plastic waste exports from the EU, importing as much as 1.36 million metric tons worth in 2015. However, the country's ban on plastic waste introduced in 2018 saw exports plummet to just 50.3 thousand metric tons that year. Turkey is now the main destination for EU waste exports.

2023年，欧盟（EU-27）向非欧盟国家出口了133万吨塑料废物，较前一年的112万吨有所增加。欧盟的塑料废物出口量在2014年达到峰值，为273万吨。中国曾是欧盟塑料废物出口的最大市场，2015年进口量高达136万吨。然而，自2018年起，该国实施的塑料废物禁令导致出口量急剧下降至当年的5.03千吨。目前，土耳其已成为欧盟废物出口的主要目的地。
