Assembly of Staphylococcus aureus strains deriving from atopic dermatitis patients and healthy carriers

Several clinical studies have shown a linkage between Staphylococcus aureus and the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD), although the origins and genetic diversity of S. aureus colonizing AD patients is poorly understood. To investigate whether specific clones might be associated with the disease, we perfomed a WGS analyses on 38 S. aureus strains, deriving from AD patients and healthy subjects.
