Replication data for: Central Asia (2008): Knowledge, Attitudes and Practices of CSWs Relating to Sexual Behavior in Tashkent, Osh and Khujand. Second Round.

PSI's Adara program is implemented in partnership with key national organizations at each site: Podruga in Osh, Istiqbolli Avlod in Tashkent, and Anti-AIDS in Khujand. Through such partnerships, PSI is building the capacity of these organizations to implement communications activities for and provide services to sex workers. PSI's outreach work serves to inform CSWs about the health and social risks of heroin/opiate use, the dangers of risky sexual behavior in contracting HIV and/or STIs, and the availability of treatment, rehabilitation, and other health and social services. PSI's interventions aim to generate positive behavior change in the target population through encouraging CSWs to adopt safer sexual practices.Time Location Sampling was used at both baseline and follow-up to collect data among CSWs aged 15 to 45 who have been a CSW for at least one month and have had their last sexual act with a client within the last 6 months in Tashkent, Osh and Khujand (baseline N=600; follow-up N=675).
