Dataset of Marine Economic Export Products and Economic Complexity Indicators for 11 Coastal Provincial-Level Regions of China (2000–2023)

It contains HS 8-digit marine economic export product data for six major marine industries exported from 11 coastal provincial-level regions of China to 156 countries worldwide during 2000–2023, together with calculated economic complexity and product-space-related indicators. The dataset is organized at the region–product–year level and includes variables such as location, product, value, year, diversity, ubiquity, mcp, eci, pci, density, coi, cog, rca, product_name, type, and several aggregated total-value fields across year, region, product, and industry type. The dataset can be used for research on the evolution of marine export structure, changes in revealed comparative advantage, product space relations, economic complexity measurement, and the spatial differentiation and cultivation paths of new quality productive forces in China’s marine economy. The 11 coastal provincial-level regions covered by the dataset are Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan.
