研究桢楠阴沉木与现代木木材化学成分与表面颜色差异，为进一步研究桢楠阴沉木的形成机理提供理论依据。结果显示，阴沉木形成过程中，半纤维素的特征峰减小最为明显，表明在桢楠阴沉木形成过程中半纤维素发生降解的程度最大。与现代木相比较，桢楠阴沉木 L* 值下降了 24.83%，亮度偏暗，a* 值为-10.0，颜色偏绿，色差与色调差异明显。桢楠阴沉木的形成伴随着木材化学成分的变化。
