Ultraviolet radiation datasets in Chinese terrestrial ecosystems

Two ultraviolet radiation datasets are described here, one is the observed hourly UV radiation measured at 40 Chinese Ecosystem Research Network stations from 2005 to 2015. CUV3 broadband radiometers are used to observe ultraviolet radiation with an accuracy of 5% that meets the standard for World Meteorology Organization measurements. The extremum method is used to control the quality of the measured datasets. The other dataset is daily accumulated ultraviolet radiation, calculated using an all-sky estimation model combined with a hybrid model. The reconstructed daily ultraviolet radiation data spans the years 1961 to 2014. These datasets can improve our basic knowledge of the spatial and temporal variations of ultraviolet radiation. Additionally, the datasets can provide scientific data support for biological effects studies, ecological process simulations and atmosphere-land surface interactions.
