Benthic foraminifera of sediment core POS287_06-2G

We present relative abundance of the benthic foraminifera dataset from marine sediment core POS287-06-2G. Core POS287-06-2G was retrieved from the NW Iberian Margin (41.33567 N, −8.98883 W), with a gravity corer, from 84 m water depth during the PALEO I cruise in 2002. Benthic foraminifera present in the >125 µm fraction were counted at Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA). These benthic assemblages were done within of the PTDC/CTA-CLI/2884/2021- Impact of climate warming in the coastal upwelling system and primary production off Portugal: a study linking classical and emerging proxies - ICW3P project. The dataset provides information on water mass conditions and associated benthic foraminifera fauna responses during the last millennium on the Portuguese Margin.
