Bacterial hemolytic jaundice, a fatal disease of cultured yellowtail, Seriola quinqueradiata, has been known in Japan since 1980. Strain JBKA-6 was isolated from a diseased yellowtail in 1991 and determined as the causative agent of bacterial hemolytic jaundice. In order to develop the subunit vaccines for this bacterial disease, whole genome analysis of strain JBKA-6 has been carried out to discover antigenic genes. Genes encoding secretory proteins, outer membrane proteins, toxins and proteases will be utilized to develop the subunit vaccine
