We assembled the novel, complete mitochondrial genomes of the two grysbok species, Raphicerus melanotis (Cape grysbok) and Raphicerus sharpei (Sharpe's grysbok) (Family: Bovidae) from NGS short reads, for use in ongoing palaeogenetics studies. The mitogenomes will be valuable in future phylogenetics studies of Bovidae, and in conservation and phylogeographic studies of the grysbok species.
