Data files relating to
Matthew Wilks, Nick Rawlinson, J.-Michael Kendall, Andy Nowacki, Juliet Biggs, Ataly Ayele and James Wookey, 2020.The Coupled Magmatic and Hydrothermal Systems of the Restless Aluto Caldera, EthiopiaFrontiers in Earth Science, 8:579699, doi:10.3389/feart.2020.579699
The corresponding author is Mike Kendall (mike.kendall@stx.ox.ac.uk)
## File listing
### Tomography models
1. `VpModel.out`2. `VsModel.out`3. `VpVsModel.out`
They are plain text files giving the velocity in km/s (relating to Vp or Vs) or Vp/Vs ratio at each node of the grid specified in the first four lines of the file.
Each line of the files contain the following columns:
[1] [For these data, this line always contains simply the values `1` and `1`.][2] Three values, respectively for the number of nodes in radius, latitude and longitude.[3] Three values, respectively for the radial node spacing in km, spacing in latitude in radians and spacing in longitude in radians.[4] Three values, respectively for the grid origin radius (km), latitude (radians) and longitude (radians).[5..n+5] Value of Vp, Vs or Vp/Vs (given by file name) at each node.
Note that each value in lines 5 forwards corresponds to a single node. The values loop overthe grid, with longitude varying fastest and radius slowest.The first node is at the grid origin. The second node is at the grid origin, plus the grid spacing in longitude. This continues for the `nlon` longitude nodes. The `nlon+1`the point is then at the grid origin, plus the latitude spacing; and so on.
If there are `nr` radial nodes, `nlat` latitude nodes and `nlon` longitude nodes, then the following pseudocode shows how to read lines 5 forwards using the imaginary function `readline`, which reads a single real value from a plain text file and moves to the next line:
```# Comment: have already read the first four linesfor ir in 1:nr:for ilat in 1:nlat:for ilon in 1:nlon:grid[ir,ilat,ilon] = readline(file_handle)```
### Relocated hypocentres
4. `Event_catalogue.txt`
This is a plain text file containing the original and relocated hypocentres input and output during the joint inversion for event location and velocity. The last three columns are the associated errors. Each line is for a separate event, with columns ordered longitude, latitude, depth (see headers).
