Fusobacteria are commonly associated with human colorectal cancer but investigations are hampered by absence of a stably colonized murine model. Further, F. nucleatum subsp. isolated from CRC have not been investigated. We sought to establish a stably colonized murine model and to understand the inflammatory potential and virulence genes of CRC F. nucleatum subspecies.
