Breakdown of company de-registrations in France 2021, by legal status and reason

According to the National Council of Commercial Court Clerks (Conseil National des Greffiers des Tribunaux de Commerce), the first half of 2021 coincided with a spike in the number of companies removed from the trade and company register. Indeed, 131,412 companies were delisted in the first half of 2021, which is almost 28 percent more than in the same period the previous year. A large proportion of the cases, especially those involving sole proprietorships (69.5 percent), were voluntary deregistrations. The second most frequent reason was a deregistration following a collective procedure.
