Local Area Unemployment Statistics, 1976-1983; 1988-1998

<p>This data collection contains unemployment statistics for the U.S. in two different periods of time, namely 1976-1983 and 1988 to 1998. Local area unemployment statistics are produced by State employment security agencies and are used by State and local governments for planning and budgetary purposes and as determinants of the need for local employment training servcies and programs. It is not known if the data from the respective time periods are comparable, and these data are subject to revision.</p>
