An overview of Ireland’s smaller charities

There are just over 11,500 registered charities and, based on charity financial data for 2021, which is the most up-to-date full year available, almost half (excluding schools) reported an annual income of less than €100,000. This report takes a closer look at these smaller or lower income charities. Although they are often only known within their locality or community, they have a significant impact on people’s lives by providing essential services and supports to their beneficiaries.
