The dataset contains the morphometric and spectrophotometric measurements of four body parts (back, belly, tail behind the cloaca, tail lateral band) for 209 male and female smooth newts Lissotriton vulgaris in the Natura 2000 Evo site in Southern Finland. It also contains the chemical water characteristics and a proxy of aquatic invertebrate abundance assessed by passive traps for the 16 sites from where the newts were captured.
