This repository contains the complete dataset, logs, scoring, and replication materials for “The Maya Effect: Garbage In, Gospel Out.” The study evaluates 12 large language models (LLMs) across 10 domains using deliberately impossible quantitative metrics (e.g., “citations per kelvin,” “Pascals per capita”) to probe evidence evaluation. When presented with fabricated metrics, many models generated confident, authoritative analyses instead of refusing, what this work terms the Maya Effect (garbage‑in → gospel‑out).
