1. Questions concerning the foreign owned enterprise´s financial sources and restrictions for investment and the distribution and educational background of its employees.
2. Standard questions about the shareholder structure of enterprises with foreign/West German ownership, e.g. date of entry, mode of entry, enterprise operated as a contractor to the foreign shareholder, autonomy over particular business functions.
3. Directed only to enterprises with outward FDI with similar questions as the second section.
4. Questions about domestic investment.
5. Research and development (R&D), R&D employment and R&D expenditure.
6. Product and process innovations including their intensity and sources of financing R&D/innovation.
7. Questions on the diffusion of R&D and innovation.
8. Relationship with suppliers.
9. Relationship with customers and external shocks.
