资源简介:
Child protection is a key dimension in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). Addressing child abuse, however, is one of the hardest tasks that face those implementing the articles of CRC. The need for empirical research is big and since 2001 CRC requested an in-depth international study on violence, which is currently, carried out in collaboration between the Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Humans Rights, United Nations’ Fund for Children and World Health Organization. SRC is carrying out a study with support from UNICEF Egypt Country Office which is addressing the issue of child abuse in Egypt. The study aims at providing much needed information to guide local and national policy for child protection. The study is carried out under the umbrella of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), which is the national body responsible for coordinating and monitoring child protection efforts.
