Memorable Dark Tourism Experiences: Cross-Cultural Analysis of Czech Republic and India
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains anonymised survey data collected for a cross-cultural study examining memorable tourism experiences at dark-tourism sites among young visitors from the Czech Republic and India. The study employed a cross-sectional, comparative research design using a self-administered questionnaire based on the Memorable Tourism Experience Scale (MTES). The sample comprises 208 university students (100 from the Czech Republic and 108 from India), aged between 18 and 34 years, all of whom reported having previously visited at least one dark-tourism attraction (e.g., war memorials, museums related to conflict, or sites associated with death or tragedy). Participation was voluntary and anonymous, and informed consent was obtained from all respondents prior to data collection. The dataset includes 21 MTES items measuring seven experiential dimensions: hedonism, refreshment, local culture, involvement, knowledge, meaningfulness, and novelty, with three items per construct. Responses were recorded on a five-point Likert scale ranging from 1 (“strongly disagree”) to 5 (“strongly agree”). In addition, basic demographic variables are provided, including country of origin, gender, age group, and education level. All data have been fully anonymised, and no personally identifying information is included. The dataset is suitable for replication of the analyses reported in the associated manuscript, including descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and independent-sample t-tests, as well as for secondary analyses related to cross-cultural tourism research.
