Cytometric fingerprints of gut microbiota predict Crohn's disease state

Gut microbiota were analyzed using flow cytometry for patients classified by Crohn's disease (n = 29) versus a healthy control (n = 66) group. Cytometric diversity was evaluated as a biormarker, and compared with the statistical power derived from taxonomic diversity based on 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Conclusion: Cytometric diversity of human gut microbiata reveals highly significant differences between the CD and HC group. Consequently, patient status can be predicted.
