Bacillus thuringiensis strain JSd1 genome sequencing

Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), a Gram-positive, rod-shaped, spore-forming bacterium, is a crucial microbial entomopathogen and one of the most effective biocontrol agents. It produces insecticidal crystal (Cry) and cytolytic (Cyt) proteins encoded by specific genes. The objective was to explore Bt JSd1 as a safer, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to hazardous chemical pesticides.
