VPRS 16905 Royal Children's Hospital Parent's Bereavement Support Group Newsletters

The newsletters contain the reports of the monthly meetings of the Parent's Bereavement Support Group, as well as poems and stories of bereavement from parents. The newsletters were published monthly by the Social Work Department of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH). They provided a resource for bereaved parents who were unable to attend the monthly meetings of the support group.The newsletters included contributions from the following groups: Sudden Death Group; Chronic Illness Group; Neonatal Baby Group; Acute Death group.The first meeting and newsletter published for the bereavement group was in April1989. Newsletters post 2005 are held at the Department of Social Work at RCH and are available online at the social work section of the RCH website.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2009/003.
