Fibre optic Rennes Métropole: pipelines/infrastructure

This layer of lines represents the location of the pipes hosting the optical fiber network managed by Rennes Métropole Télécom. This represents about 310 km of pipes (from 1 to 3 ducts on average) belonging to various actors (communes, operators, Rennes Métropole). Rennes Métropole has delegated to the SAS Rennes Métropole Télécom the construction and operation of a high-speed electronic communications network. This involves the deployment of optical fibers and management equipment for such a network. A concession contract was signed on 25 July 2007 and notified on 20 September 2007 by Rennes Métropole to Rennes Métropole Télécom. The duration of the contract is 22 years. This fiber optic network is intended for professional purposes (dedicated fiber) and connects public sites, businesses, and telephone exchanges. As part of the verification of compliance and reception of the network, Rennes Métropole Télécom must provide Rennes Métropole annually with the entire network in GIS format.
