Industrial pigments were analysed by Laser desorption ionisation (LDI)-trapped ion mobility spectrometry (TIMS)-mass spectrometry (MS). Fragmentation spectra were recorded for pigment precursor ions and deposited in a spectral library for free use. The library was applied to annotate pigments in acrylic paints and a tattooed skin sample.
