The potential of enhanced phytoremediation to clean up multi-contaminated soil

Bioremediation of co-contaminated soils has remained largely unsolved due to lack of detailed knowledge mainly on the activity of soil microorganisms during decontamination process. The study aimed to investigate the potential of enhanced phytoremediation for the removal of contaminants from the soil historically co-contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons (PHs) and heavy metals (HMs) and analyze the whole soil metatranscriptome as well as plant transcriptome for better understanding of processes during applied treatment.
