Dynamic context-based updating of object representations in visual cortex

In two fMRI studies, we investigate the effect of scene context on the representations of occluded objects in visual cortex. Using multivariate pattern analysis, we find that as a scene's 3D viewpoint changes, the representations of the objects are updated coherently, reflecting the objects' appearance from the new viewpoint - even when the objects are not visible.
