NRS-679 | Investment files

These files relate to specific investments by the Corporation. The types of investments carried out by the Corporation were property (for lease), mortgages, loans to local government authorities, State and Commonwealth bonds, shares, and the money market. Each file was given a four digit registration number with the first two digits of the number indicating the type of investment: 40 Commonwealth Bonds; 41 State and semi-government loans; 42 State government housing loans; 43 Council loans; 44 Debentures and notes; 45 Commercial mortgages; 46 Property; 47 Trading in bonds; 48 Ordinary shares; 49 Short term investments. One file from each of these categories has been retained as an example. Basic financial details about these investments are contained in the Security register (6/14873), Investment asset register (6/14871), Investment risk register (6/14872), and Financial accounting working papers, the latter of which are still maintained at the Corporation.
