A F2 population was derived from wild-type B73 maize inbred line and a colorless mutant. Gene mapping showed the causal mutation is ZmC2-E183K. To evaluate the effect of this mutation on related biosynthesis and other mechanisms, RNA-seq was performed on F2 wild-type pool (WP) and mutant-type pool (MP) with two biological replicates.
