This dataset contains soil data from a traffic trial with a three-axle sugar beet harvester (fully loaded (61.5 tons) and half-loaded (48.9 tons) bunker; crab steering or multipass). The trial took place in 2019 during the harvest. The soil, a stagnic luvisol developed from loess, was tilled to a depth of 25 cm. The vehicles drove one after the other over defined plots in the core field area (fully loaded and half-loaded bunker with crab steering) and headland (fully loaded bunker multipass). Before the traffic trials, a pit was dug in both the core field and the headland, and after the trials, two pits were dug for each variant • Soil pressure and plastic soil deformation • Water retention properties, bulk density, and saturated hydraulic conductivity (100 cm³ core samples; 5 replicates per pit and depth). Derived from these were total porosity, air capacity, field capacity, permanent wilting point, and dry bulk density • Biopores were counted in each pit and depth"
