NRS-21431 | Council Electricity Franchise Agreements [Endeavour Energy]

This series consists of Franchise Agreements between various Councils for supply of electricity in their shire or municipality between 1928 and 1991. During this period the supply of electricity was controlled by local councils until 1989 when the State Government began to take control of electricity supplies. Local Government control of electricity supply ended in 1991 when Prospect Electricity, a government business enterprise was formed. As a result of the creation of Prospect electricity, the Franchise Agreements ended up in that agencies custody. Some items are copies of the original documents.
