Inbound and outbound travel spending in Italy 2010-2023

Inbound and outbound travel spending in Italy experienced a sharp annual increase in 2023, recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. That year, the expenditure of international travelers in the country amounted to nearly 51.7 billion euros, the highest figure reported to date. Similarly, spending of Italian travelers abroad also peaked in 2023, reaching around 31.6 billion euros.
