GNSS-R Monthly Gridded Arctic Sea Ice Freeboard 2023-2024

This experimental dataset contains monthly gridded sea ice freeboard derived from grazing-angle GNSS-Reflectometry observations for the Arctic winter season 2023/2024. The product covers the period from October 2023 to April 2024 and provides Level-3C monthly fields on the EASE-Grid 2.0 (EPSG:6931) with a grid spacing of 50 km. The freeboard retrieval is based on Spire GNSS-R height retrievals and GNSS-R-based surface type information. Each monthly NetCDF file contains the GNSS-R sea-ice freeboard field together with auxiliary variables. The files follow CF-1.8 conventions and are distributed in NetCDF format. Missing values are represented by NaN. The data were produced by NORCE Norwegian Research Centre in collaboration with the Technical University of Munich within the framework of the ESA EDAP+ project.
