Specialist support classes by school and support needs type

This dataset is an indication of current support classes operating in NSW public schools. It is not a definitive list of support classes available. \r\n\r\n**Data notes:**\r\n\r\n* Data is for government schools and is updated at the beginning of each term. \r\n\r\n* Classes will only appear in this dataset if one or more students is enrolled in the class.\r\n\r\n* Parents and carers are advised to contact their local public school to discuss all support options available. Applications for support placement are through the Access Request process. An Access Request is usually arranged by the school learning and support team at the local public school, but can also be organised through the local School Services team if a child is not yet enrolled.\r\n\r\n* Support types included are: \r\n - Mild intellectual disability (IM)\r\n - Moderate intellectual disability (IO)\r\n - Severe intellectual disability (IS)\r\n - Range of disabilities with similar support needs (MC multi categorical)\r\n - Autism (Au)\r\n - Autism and/or moderate intellectual disability (IO/Au)\r\n - Physical disability (P)\r\n - Behavioural issues (BD)\r\n - Mental health issues (ED emotional disturbance)\r\n - Blind or vision impaired (V)\r\n - Deaf or hearing impaired (H)\r\n - DeafBlind impaired (DB)\r\n - Disability support prior to school (EI early intervention) \r\n\r\n**Data source:**\r\n\r\n* Disability, Learning and Support.
