PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric working machine which can improve weight balance when holding a lateral handle even in a state of mounting a large battery and improve handleability during operations. SOLUTION: A chain saw 1 (electric working machine) includes: a body case 10; a cutting section 20 (working tool); a motor 30; and a battery 90. The motor 30 is stored in a front section 11a of the body case 10 and a battery detaching section 12 is formed in a rear section 11b of the body case 10. The battery 90 mounted in the battery detaching section 12 straddles a center section H in a height direction of the rear section 11b of the body case 10 in a vertical direction. A lateral handle 50 mounted on a side face of the body case 10 extends from the front section 11a to the rear section 11b of the body case 10 and a rear end 52 of the lateral handle 50 is arranged on a rear side and a lower side of an output shaft 31 of the motor 30.
