Cymbopogon (Poaceae family) genus comprises of unique group of aromatic plants that are bestowed with diversified essential and aromatic compounds belonging to terpenoids. Exclusively, the monoterpene rich essential oils from these plants have great significance in aromatherapy and cosmetic industries and also used as flavor, fragrance. Nevertheless their commercial prominence, their biosynthesis at the molecular level is yet elusive.
