CULTIVATION TECHNOLOGY OF FIBER CROPS (COTTON, HEMP, FLAX)

This article covers the scientific and practical foundations of the cultivation technology of fiber crops (cotton, flax, hemp). Fiber crops are annual and perennial plants grown for fiber production. Their agrotechnics include soil tillage, sowing, fertilization, irrigation, pest and disease control, harvesting, and primary processing. The article describes the stages of cotton cultivation, modern intensive technologies (drip irrigation, pneumatic seeders), and state programs to increase yield in Uzbekistan. It also discusses flax requirements for heat, light, moisture, and soil, as well as the importance of flaxseed oil; and the technologies for sowing, retting, fiber and seed production, and processing of hemp. The experience of Uzbekistan in reviving hemp cultivation is also presented.
