资源简介:
Amblyomma hebraeum transmits Rickettsia africae the cause of African tick bite fever an emerging tick-borne zoonosis in humans. Amblyomma hebraeum has been found to be the most abundant tick in the Mnisi community a rural area in Mpumalanga Province, South Africa, while previous studies in southern Africa have stated that cattle are its most preferred host. The aim of this study was to characterize the bacterial microbiome of A. hebraeum in order to gain an understanding of the microbial communities that reside in this important tick vector using next generation sequencing techniques on the Pacific Biosciences platform.
