Plant Community

These data comprise a single spreadsheet listing plant species and their projected canopy cover values (Braun-Blanquet type estimates) for 115 quadrats (5 m x 5 m). The vegetation was sampled on plains, heuweltjies, washes and drainage lines in the Tierberg Karoo Research Centre (TKRC) that had been moderately stocked with Merino sheep (8 ha/SSU) and then protected from grazing for one year prior to the study, and on plains on the adjacent rangeland (Argentina ranch) that had been heavily stocked with domestic livestock prior to 1960 and then moderately stocked with Dorper sheep (8 ha/SSU).
