527 Sussex Drive - The Moscow Tea Room - Integrated Project Dossier (2017)
收藏资源简介:
Situated in the Byward Market, 527 Sussex Drive, known presently as The Moscow Tea Room, adds to the cultural value of this historic district. It is located in the block bordered by York Street on the Northside and George Street on the Southside. Its front façade sits on Sussex Drive facing West, with its back entrance leading into the York Courtyard. The location of 527 Sussex Drive, known as The Moscow Tea Room, could be considered to have architectural, historical, and contextual heritage values. Its architectural value comes from its well-crafted Italianate 1870’s brick façade, its distinctive mansard roof with dormers, its functional division into ground-floor businesses and upper-floor residences, and its overall stylistic harmony. This is the Integrated Project Dossier compiled by a group of undergraduate students of the Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Program (Engineers and architects) at Carleton University for the CIVE3207 (ARCN4100) Historic Site Recording and Assessment course in 2017.
