In this work, two methods were employed to determine the temporal evolution of the electron temperature at different stages during laser filament grooving of the silicon carbide ceramic matrix composite (SiC CMC) by filament-induced breakdown spectroscopy (FIBS). The initial electron temperature was obtained by fitting the entire temperature evolution using the double exponential function after converting the measured temperatures to instantaneous values.
