Open data set for: Intermittent control and retinal optic flow when maintaining a curvilinear path

The data set contains the post-processed data used for the analysis of the paper. The post-processed data is derived from points of view rendered images (as seen by the research participants), their gazing behavior, and vehicular data when the research participants are driving in a double-lane S-shaped drive track on a texture-rich asphalt virtual reality. The post-processed data consists of ballistic control correction strength (acted on the steering wheel), retinal optic flow spatial angular mean, naive optic spatial angular mean, vehicular heading deviation, and vehicular lateral displacement. Statistical analysis data using correlation measures is also included. The data set also includes short demo videos showcasing the experimental trials as the research participants would have experienced, post-processing of visual data, and retinal optic flow. The raw data set containing some sensitive personal data may be requested through the closed data set catalog entry (2024-471).
