Based on a consumer-oriented ethnography, I observe the process, outcome and impact of storytelling-based co-creation in Community-based Tourism (CBT) in Hong Kong’s Kowloon City. I used 11 months to immerse into the CBT activities in Kowloon City to understand and observe the co-creation process in different kinds of CBT activities organized by different operators. I participated in 15 tours and field notes were written on the same day. Also, 33 tourists, 14 guides and 4 local merchants (51 interviewees in total) were invited to participate in an in-depth semi-structured interview by stratified convenience sampling.For the file "Field notes", it includes the scanned copies of the field notes written by the researcher on the physical environment, people and their actions, dialogues, characterizations of people and narratives at a particular setting or continuous interactions during the 15 tours.For the file "In depth interview transcript", it includes the full transcript of the researcher's interview with the 33 tourists, 14 guides and 4 local merchants (51 interviewees in total).
