Updated December, 2025 NEST SITES: ACTIVE NESTSITES: The nest status was reported as Occupied Failed or Occupied Intact in the last 5 years. INACTIVE NESTSITES: The nest status was reported as Unoccupied Intact or Unoccupied Dilapidated in the last 5 years. UNDETERMINED NESTSITES: The nest status was reported with an Undetermined status in the last 5 years. DESTROYED: The nest status was reported as Destroyed in the last monitoring record. UNKNOWN NESTSITES: The nest does not have a recorded monitoring record in over 5 years. FORAGING AREA: Open water areas, typically associated with larger rivers, lakes, and reservoirs with abundant fish populations, utilized by both resident and transient osprey for feeding purposes. This information was derived from Colorado Parks and Wildlife field personnel. Data was captured by digitizing through a SmartBoard Interactive Whiteboard using topographic maps and NAIP imagery at various scales (Cowardin, M., M. Flenner. March 2003. Maximizing Mapping Resources. GeoWorld 16(3):32-35). These data are updated on a four year rotation with one of the four Colorado Parks and Wildlife Regions updated each year. These data are not updated on a statewide level annually.
