Indian Coin Denomination Dataset (ICDD)

This dataset is a collection of images and their respective labels containing multiple Indian coins of different denominations and their variations. The purpose of this dataset is to enable researchers to develop a computer vision approach solution for the detection and classification of Indian coins according to their denominations. The data contains images of One (1), Two (2), Five (5), Ten (10), and Twenty (20) Rupee coins in Indian denomination and their variations that are in circulation as of December 2021. The dataset only contains images of one side of each coin (Tail side) which contains the denomination value. The samples were collected with the help of a mobile phone while the coins were placed on top of a white sheet of A4 sized paper. There are a total of 30 different coins that were sampled in this dataset out of which there are 7 one rupee coins, 4 two rupee coins, 9 five rupee coins, 6 ten rupee coins, and 4 twenty rupee coins. Each coin has been sampled via 5 different viewing angles and in 3 different lighting conditions while each combination of viewing angle and lighting condition was imaged twice. All the labels for the sampled images were manually generated.
