This study provides a comprehensive analysis of methylation-mediated epigenetic modifications in response to in vitro and environmental (drought) stressors. we explore the boundaries of epigenetic plasticity and offer solutions for the long-term preservation of genetic fidelity by utilizing bisulfite sequencing in sweetpotato. Our findings reveal that epigenetic remodeling is highly genotype-dependent, offering new perspectives on methylome stability during prolonged tissue culture. This work fits the scope of Plant Science and Applied Plant Genomics section by contributing to the broader understanding of how epigenetic variations influence adaptation and stability in complex polyploid genomes. This is raw data used during the analysis for the given study. All datasets are in excel files.
