Political attitudes and judgement on parties as well as politicians.

Federal Republic and issue competence of parties as well as
politicians; judgement on current economic situation and assessment of
further economic development of the Federal Republic; party preference
(first vote and second vote, ballot procedure); personal change in
party voted for; importance of election result for further development
of the Federal Republic; classification of parties with selected
occupational groups for which they make particular efforts;
self-classification as well as classification of parties and
politicians on a left-right continuum; judgement on productivity and
sympathy scale for the most important parties and the top politicians;
party inclination and party identification; reasons for and time of
change of personal party inclination; attitude to nuclear power plants,
the installation of new weapon systems and the peace movement; attitude
to house occupation; assessment of the extent of the housing problem in
the Federal Republic; preferred conduct of the governments regarding

Residents in Schleswig-Holstein were asked the following additional
questions regarding the state parliament election: issue competence of
the state parties and state politicians; party preference regarding the
state parliament election; personal change in party voted for; behavior
at the polls in the last state parliament election (question of
recall); importance of the election result for further development of
Schleswig-Holstein; left-right classification of the state parties;
assessment of productivity and sympathy scale for the state parties;
judgement on the election campaign in Schleswig-Holstein; preferred
prime minister.
Demography: age; sex; marital status; number of children; ages of
children (classified); religious denomination; frequency of church
attendance; school education; occupational position; employment; is
there a works council in the company; income; household income; sources
of income; composition of household; respondent is head of household;
characteristics of head of household; self-assessment of social class;
memberships; union membership; personal membership in the works
council; earlier and current offices; church office; number of persons
in household with their own income; possession of a telephone; number
of eligible voters in household; city size.
Interviewer rating: length of interview and date of interview.
