Sustainable Environment, Resilient Communities (Northwest landscape of the Border Rivers-Gwydir catchments)

This sub project is aimed at conserving and protecting species and ecosystems of national environmental significance, within the Northwest landscape of the Border Rivers-Gwydir catchments. Parts of this sub protect aims to maintain and improve the values and integrity of the Gwydir Wetlands, an internationally significant site. To reach its goals, activities conducted under the project will: ·         Build community skills and knowledge ·         Improve the governance and capacity of Indigenous communities in natural resource management (NRM) and apply this to the development of new NRM enterprises ·         Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with land managers and technical experts to ensure sound and realistic outcomes. ·         Protect or enhance the intrinsic values of a Ramsar site ·         Protect or enhance habitat condition and extent for nationally significant species and communities
