Qualitative Fishing Dataset

This dataset relates to the book <em>Ireland’s Sea Fisheries, 1400-1600: Economics, Environment and Ecology</em>, for more information on how it was generated, see Appendix 1 of that volume. This data was originally part of a relational database built in Microsoft Access; the data presented here has been limited to records related to fishing activities; ranging from entries describing fishing locations to those detailing the consumption of fish. The data is mainly focused on the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, but there are records stretching from the thirteenth to seventeenth centuries.
