Number of fintech startups in Brazil 2017-2023

The number of fintech startups in Brazil increased sharply between 2017 and 2023, despite a notable drop in 2023. In 2023, there were 722 active fintechs in Brazil, 49 less than in the previous year. During the observed period, the number of fintechs in the country increased by almost 500. In 2023, Brazil accounted for the highest share of fintech startups in Latin America, with almost 24 percent of all fintech startups in the region having operated in Brazil.
